I fell in love with fluffy waffles served with strawberries and maple syrup when I visited “Yolk” in Chicago. They have the best waffles and breakfast!
But making waffles at home is even better and so cozy. I love making these fluffy waffles with yogurt on the weekends, serving them with sliced bananas, blueberries, strawberries and a drizzle of maple syrup. It’s heaven!
The acid in yogurt helps to tenderize the waffles from the inside out, making them incredibly fluffy. These waffles are soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. Kids are going to love them!

The most important thing to remember when making these waffles is to not overmix the batter. Don’t worry about a few lumps in the batter—that’s what makes the fluffiest waffles. After the batter has rested in the fridge and the baking soda has worked its magic, the lumps will smooth out as you cook the waffles.
This batter makes about six large waffles, depending on the waffle iron you’re using.
