I’ve always had a soft spot for vanilla wafers—also known as Nilla wafers—and honestly, they’re easily in my top five favorite cookies of all time.

The only “problem” with these cookies? Once you start snacking, it’s really hard to stop. They’re light, crisp, and just sweet enough. Both kids and adults absolutely love them.

They also pack and store really well, and they’re incredibly versatile. Use them to make banana pudding—think that dreamy Magnolia Bakery-style version—or layer them into a homemade tiramisu. But honestly? They’re so good on their own, straight from the baking sheet, that you might not even get that far.

Once you try these homemade vanilla wafers, I promise—you’ll never want to go back to store-bought again.
