This is my favorite chocolate frosting—a light, cloud-like dream that melts in your mouth. It tastes just like the most delicious chocolate mousse you’ve ever had.
It’s silky, smooth, not too sweet, and made without any butter. Best of all? You can whip it up in just minutes.
This is my go-to for cupcakes, and it’s perfect for filling or frosting cakes.

You can absolutely make it quickly by just whipping everything together—but if you want to take it a step further, I really recommend blooming the cocoa powder.
That simply means gently warming all the ingredients until the cocoa powder dissolves.
When cocoa powder blooms, it releases a deeper, richer chocolate flavor. You’ll actually taste that reddish, dark chocolate intensity.

It’s not just the flavor though—the texture gets better too. Smoother, creamier, more mousse-like.
It’s honestly kind of magical how one little step makes such a big difference.
